While Westwood hopes to add to its rich legacy at this week's UIL team tennis state tournament, LASA aspires to make the most of its first trip.In just its second season as a stand-alone athletic program, LASA fended off Friendswood 10-7 in the Class 5A Region III finals to earn the state berth. The Raptors (10-5), ranked No. 12 in the state by the Texas Tennis Coaches Association, will face No. 2 Amarillo in a state semifinal Wednesday at Texas A&M University in College Station. With a win, they'll advance to Thursday's state championship matchup against either Alamo Heights or Frisco Centennial.
