League City was among several Bay Area cities that set records this year for sales tax revenue earned in a January. League City's tax revenue for January was $2.55 million, some 10.6 percent greater than the $2.3 million that came in during that month in 2022, which had set the city's previous record for January tax receipts. The figures come from the most recent monthly sales tax revenue report, which was issued by the Texas Comptrollers Office on March 10. The sales tax numbers are released six weeks after the fact.
