The fundraiser, called Cookies for a Cause, is one of the Big Blue Marble Academy's Heart Projects, where enrolled children take on a cause and serve a need. 'Want them to think bigger than the community they are in,' said Amanda Herrera, director at the Friendswood location, which opened in 2015 and is the only Big Blue Marble in Texas. Whether it's teaching pre-school age students sign language or incorporating Spanish and French into lesson plans, Big Blue Marble Academy's curriculum focuses on providing a broad early education experience.
