A Friendswood man was arrested on Monday and accused of driving the sports car that hit and killed a man walking on Old Galveston Road in La Marque in January, according to the La Marque Police Department. Andrew Smiley, 47, was charged with accident involving death in the Jan. 23 crash that killed Jerry Humphrey, 62. Humphrey was walking across the road near Cedar Drive when he was struck by a white Dodge Charger, police said. The driver left the scene without helping Humphrey, who died in the roadway.
