FRIENDSWOOD — With University of Houston commit Diego Luzardo throwing for La Porte on Tuesday night, the Friendswood Mustangs knew they had to make the most of their opportunities in a matchup of unbeaten District 18-5A baseball teams. Fortunately, those chances came early and often. Catching Luzardo a bit off form, Friendswood feasted on the hard-throwing righthander in the early innings to claim a 6-2 victory at Bobby Black Field. Friendswood, the state's No. 1 ranked Class 5A team, scored twice in the first inning and four times in the third in pulling away to the victory.
