Pearland (Class 6A), Friendswood (Class 5A) and Bay Area Christian (Small Private School) were each slotted at No. 1 in the state. For those not familiar with the Greater Houston area, those schools are only a strong outfield throw from each other. 'That's one of the reasons why I've never really considered going out of town to play,' Friendswood head coach Cory Benavides said. 'I can drive 10 minutes down the road and play Clear Springs or drive five minutes and play Clear Brook. Two of the best tournaments we're in are the Pearland First Pitch tournament and the CCISD tournament.
